Rio Tinto is a small water course with about 10km that is born in Ermesinde and has as its mouth the Douro River.
For centuries the river provided water to the populations living on the banks and to the dozens of water mills that remained active until the late '60s.
In the last decades, due to the urban expansion, part of the river was tubed and several ecological crimes made of Rio Tinto one of the most polluted rivers of the north zone of the country.
Currently, the red river is undergoing a deep restructuring. The transformation will change the river and life on the banks forever.
This is a work of memory, an intermediate point of a changing territory, a look at the suburb and rurality, on the banks of a city.
