Fabrizio Matos lives and works in Porto and occasionally teaches at FBAUP, from where he graduated in Painting and previously in Sculpture. Exploring a variety of media, especially drawing, his work focuses on topics such as memory and the veiled, on desire, mystery and the search for the unknown or the forgotten in timeless spaces, where the old and the new coexist in the landscape. He is the founder of the collective Pedra no Rim. Most recently, he has had solo exhibitions at Dentro, Sala 117 in Porto and at the Colégio das Artes in Coimbra. He has also exhibited at Carpe Diem in Lisbon, and has taken part in artist residencies and group exhibitions such as The Sound Room as part of the Museu da Cidade programme, curated by Nuno Faria, or Pictures and Cream, curated by Paulo Mendes at Cristina Guerra Gallery, in Lisbon. His work is featured in catalogues and author's editions, while being part of various national collections such as the PMLJ Foundation, the Norlinda and José Lima Modern and Contemporary Art Collection, along with other international private collections.
