Alice Geirinhas is a visual artist and researcher, her work is based on intersectional feminist theory, addressing themes such as identity, sexuality, gender equality, and resistance to history, starting from the concept that the personal is political and exploring the poetics of politics. Since the 1980s, she has built a multidisciplinary practice that encompasses drawing, illustration, artist's books, fanzines, painting, and video. She is a professor in the Department of Drawing at FBAUL and a researcher at CIEBA.
João Fonte Santa habitually appropriates images — from comics to newspapers, from painting to photography, from popular iconography to cinema — from which he questions meanings, affiliations, sensibilities, and identities. He has exhibited regularly since the mid-1990s. His work addresses the incessant multiplication of image-producing instances, the modalities of their circulation in mass culture, and the ideological legibility of these processes of creation and dissemination.
